A New York City man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the disappearance of a woman and her two children, police said.

Vasquez is being held without bail.
He was taken into custody Sunday morning, the NYPD said in a statement.
Vasuez-Reyres, a resident of Queens in the Bronx, was not charged in connection with the deaths of his wife and his children.
He has been in custody since his arrest and has not entered a plea to either charge, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.
The woman’s name was not released.
She is believed to be in her 60s.
The boys are now 3 and 8 years old.
Police said the mother of the children was found dead in her bedroom at a New York apartment complex on Feb. 8.
Authorities said the two children had not been seen since that day.
Detectives said the woman was found in her own apartment with a gunshot wound to the head.
She was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she later died, according to police.
A manhunt was underway Monday for Vasquez and his wife, who are both in their 30s, according
