Posted November 18, 2020 12:08:22A major pizza chain is set to close down the majority of its Italian takeaway restaurant franchises across Italy by 2025, according to reports.
The Italian restaurant chain, Banca Famiglia della Pizza, will lose 70% of its restaurants by the end of 2025, Bloomberg said.
The company will also close a handful of restaurants in the country’s south-east by 2025.
The closure will take place “as soon as possible”, the newspaper said.
Its closure comes as a major pizza franchise, Pizza Napoli, is set for closure as part of the chain’s planned transformation.
The move comes after the chain was forced to reduce its workforce by nearly 5,000 after a government crackdown on the mafia, a move which has been criticised by local businesses.
