LOS ANGELES — India’s takeaway delivery service, Indo Durgas, has been the fastest-growing segment of the fast-growing food industry in 2017, according to a new report by analytics firm FierceBiotech.
Indos delivery service deliveries grew by 3.5% to 4.1 million metric tons in 2017 from the previous year.
The total delivery volume is estimated to be $2.5 billion, according the report.
In a report released today, FierceBiootech said India is the fastest growing market in the food delivery market.
The food delivery segment is expected to be a $12.7 billion business by 2025, the report said.
The industry is expected grow by about 2% annually over the next four years.
While India has grown by 5.7% in 2017 compared to the previous five years, the country still lags behind China’s fast-food consumption.
China, which accounts for about a third of the global food delivery sector, accounted for 40% of the countrys total growth in 2017.
